I know I'm supposed to be on hiatus, but as soon as I saw this base photo from an online Halloween costume shop (I'm going to be a witch for Halloween! I've got the hat--I just need to find the costume and shoes) I thought of Luna and this manip HAD to be done...

Hiatus

I will be taking a break from LJ for a bit to focus on school (sophomore year is DEFINITELY not the easiest). (I don't know what to do for chapter 1 since it is the trailer--I haven't figured out a way to manip that yet, and I only just finished chapter 2, but hopefully I'll finish chapter 3 today so I can figure out the manip for it).

Manip of the Day: Ron's Letter

This started out as just a simple Ron/Hermione manip and grew to be something much more: I decided to make a manip of a letter from "Ickle Ronniekins" to his parents just after he and hermione have gotten married and moved in to their own house. I know it's far-fetched that Ron would write a letter to them when he could simply apparate to the Burrow, or talk to Mr. Weasley at work. But oh well. He's also sending them "one of those funny Muggle photos" (a polaroid). There are also three different versions of the ron/hermione manip in addition to the letter.

I was really happy with the outcome--Jacob and Bella really do look like a badass couple, but I think this manip can be platonic as well. Hermione's "Post-Hogwarts" Crisis

The idea for this manip came from seeing the poster for Post-Grad (that new Alexis Bledel movie) when I went to see Half-Blood Prince.
The poster features a panic stricken Hermione with straight hair and a graduation cap (if Hogwarts had graduation caps for their ceremonies) thinking on what she'll do after Hogwarts.

About the Covers
Since it was made clear to me that the writer wanted the book covers to convey symbols linked to different meanings in her books, I chose flowers as the central theme for these covers because flowers can have so many different meanings. For example--just take the tulip in the second version of Untitled. Tulips can mean purity but also strife, just as roses are symbols of love. The other theme I used in the first versions is the sky--whether that would mean a starry sky (like in the first version of Star, or a sky between dawn and midnight (like in the first version of Midnight Dawn).

All pictures were found at Getty Images, Deviantart, and Nasa Picture Archives; title fonts were found at Dafont (first edition fonts: Claudia, Freebooter Script, Apple Garamond; second edition font: Fairy Dust).

Simple Hermione Manip

It feels so good to be back! Yes, that's right, I was on hiatus from the mannip world for quite a long time, but now I'm back for the summer!

This manip features a bushy-haired Hermione (her hair is never bushy enough in the movies) in a gold dress (possible showing off some Gryffindor pride?). I've made several versions including a b&w (which I think turned out to be my favorite). Plus there are icon bases from the manip.
